Poem About Writer's Block

Updated on June 24, 2012

Poem about writer's block

A funny thing is writer's block
I don't think it exists...

Do boxers suffer boxer's block
And lose their use of fists?

A funny thing is writer's block
I wonder if it's real...

I've never heard a doctor cry
"I don't know how to heal!"

A funny thing is writer's block
I'm pretty sure it's fake

Have you been to a butchers
And been met with "What's a steak?"

Yes, writer's block's a funny thing
A thing I'll never get

My words are always there for me
They haven't failed me... damn. What rhymes with get?

I liked the end the best. This poem reminds me of Shel Silverstein :)

Agree on Shel Silverstein. All the poems by writeyourwrongs I have read remind me of him. :D Gonna read more.

You're all far too kind, I appreciate you reading.
