Song Lyrics - Go On Girl

Updated on November 12, 2010

Go On Girl

I know the day’s gonna come
When you’re gonna hurt me
The way I hurt you

I know the day’s gonna come
When I’m gonna feel the pain
The same pain I gave to you

I hate waitin’ around
I can’t get it out of my head
Out of my head
Out of my head

I know the time’s gonna come
When you’re gonna get to me
The way I got to you

I know the time’s gonna come
When I’m gonna beg you
The way you used to beg me

Go on girl
Get it on over with
Go on girl
I’m tired of waiting
Go on girl
Get it on over with
Go on girl
Go on girl

I hate waitin’ around
I can’t get it out of my head
Out of my head
Out of my head

Maybe so Denise... but is a poet supposed to think about material things?

Thank you Denise... I keep hoping some hot shot performer will discover me. I won't ask for the moon; just you know... some walking around money... Maybe a nice car... College for my kids....err.... a condo? A trip to wherever? I'm starting to sound greedy...

Yes. You learn while you wait. It's the fear of the emotion you know you will feel when she moves on to her new beau. There is an inevitability here that puts you on the edge because she hasn't done it yet but you know it will happen.

That's right Never... it's the classic reaping what you sow...

It could also be about a man who didn't know what he had and let it go...

Hey! You don't look "... much older!" But ok, ok... hell I've already said I'm sorry but it's too late.... the train is on the track and I have left myself open for the reaping....
