Poem: In My Own Way

Updated on December 24, 2010

A wall between the two

This poem/lyric reflects an attempt to express to my wife how I feel even though I feel she is rejecting me.

In My Own Way

12/24/2010

[v1]

It ripped through my heart

When you said you want to part ways.

Unbelievable,

To now see the light gone from your face

I don't know what I can do,

To change who I am.

The way I show I can,

Way I talk, I walk, I stand

[CHORUS]

Sometimes I feel you just don't see me

The ways I care for you each day

Sometimes I wish you'd just see me

But I'm still gonna love you ...

In my own way

[v2]

You say that I'm not enough

To give you what you need.

Never said I'm a perfect man,

(But I've) always worked for you to please.

I don't know what else to do

To change who I am.

The way I show I can,

Stay to walk with you in hand.

[CHORUS]

Sometimes I feel you just don't see me

The ways I care for you each day

Sometimes I wish you'd just see me

But I'm still gonna love you ...

In my own way

[BRIDGE]

I know you need

I know your cryin

Your pain I see

But know I'm trying

(cause)

[CHORUS]

Sometimes I feel you just don't see me

The ways I care for you each day

Sometimes I feel you really don't see me

But I'm still gonna love you ...

I'm still gonna try to love you

But I

Don't know what else to do

To make me a better man

To change who I am

To show you I can last

Sometimes I feel you just don't see me

The ways I care for you each:  Brand .. New .. Day...

Sometimes I know you just don't see me!

But I'm still gonna try to love you

I'm still gonna be thinking of you

Cause I'm still gonna try to love you ...

In my own way.
