Poem: Innocence Lost
The voice I seek is not my own
to hear to think to be alone,
True beauty is only found in innocence, purity and love:
With only love to share with only love to bring
knowing where to look you'll find her smiling.
Though strong at heart and strong at will,
she'll make you happy even still.
To hear her cry to see her sad,
To know the joy she could have had.
If patience been on her side,
To love again don't let her hide.
She sought out comfort she did not find,
She sought the comfort that made her blind.
To love alas but was it true,
to love alas but is it you?
My heart grew pain with constant sorrow,
To love again not till tomorrow.
My mind grows weak my heart grows small,
the lies I hear to believe them all.
They make me ache they make me binge,
and in your face I see you cringe.
They make me ache they make me quiver,
to see no end just makes me shiver.
I am no good, you see me true,
my loss of innocents I lost through you.
In anger I turn no pardon to plea,
I see your new life, it stands without me.
I turn away to see me fall,
I fall too deep so now I crawl.
Further I stumble harder I land,
wishing and pleading for a strong hand.
Don't know if I'll make it, to breathe is so hard,
I've shattered my image my purity is charred.
I wonder in sorrow, I wonder in pain,
to keep my mind from going insane.
It's to listen through love and know that it's true,
To listen through love, to see it from you.
