Poem: Memories And Moments

Updated on December 7, 2012
Memories
Memories | Source

Moments in our lives make up the memories that we treasure in our minds and hearts. The story behind the poem is that of memories that are from moments in life where there has been love, misunderstanding, lost, death and regrets! That moment in life will always be engraved into the ripples of the mind........

Taking Chances...
Taking Chances...

Memories - just thoughts,
Loving - just a feeling,
Crying - an emotion
Hugging - just a motion.

Life doesn't give instruction.....

Coincident - meeting you.
Flirting - catching a glance.
Response - not knowing
Words - hidden, yet showing.

Love doesn't need permission.....

Ego - hurtful feelings.
Misunderstanding - destroys relations
Strength - weakness of mind
Pride - selfless kind

Will the one you seek, ever find?

Moments
Moments

Time - journey of no return
Ripples - path carved in Time!
Calm - notion ceased,
Waves - emotions released.....
.

Emptiness leaves longing for someone......

Memories - still holding on,
Loving - yet not gone,
Crying - waiting to see,
Hugging - reaching for destiny!

Waiting to see when moments are undone......

You're welcome... glad you like the words... you are first to see them..

It's unique... and as yet unpublished.. from my soon to be published book.. Poem 77.. there are more to these words... I just wrote this from memory, as I felt that you needed to start the new year on a high note :)

      and that line is

'So, I just held her to my heart, to relax her, before I let her go....'

      - I think it is quite important to quell a racing heart this way... it kinda helps one get to know the respective beats... you know... on those dark nights when you need a pulse to time the beat of the right words by.. :) take care.. PD

Thank you ....... for sharing this beautiful piece of your work here! .... Moments.... 'so I just held her to my heart, and then let her go...'! Hope she sings for you on New Years Day and evermore! And all the best to you too, PearlDiver. Take care!

      Words are undone.....

      Momentous Memory...

the last time I felt the racing heart of a fallen bird...

and all it's fears just disappeared, in one last blink...

a life lost in my hands, a song no longer to be heard...

Throw it away, they said, it's just a bird!

Just a common, everyday thrush, I think...

But I couldn't, and I noticed that her heart was still beating, yet so slow...

So I just held her to my heart, and then I let her go...

I remember, when the sun came up on this Christmas Day...

I remember, as it shone across a cluttered kitchen sink...

I felt a great pride, at least equal to its glow...

And the beauty of my thrush's song came into play...

A momentous memory, I'd like to think...

I wonder if she will sing to me, on News Years Day?

      ------------

(words for undone moments by a diver)

Enjoy your festive times and all those times that life will sing to you.. Take Care... PD
