Poem: Mourning a Legend's Departure ~ A tribute to Jon Stewart
Regrets I have.
Years before actual, do I wish
A Daily Show Follower, I became.
Regrets same, I wish
Years before actual,
A Colbert Nation member I became.
Oh missed, the criticisms.
Most humorous, but true.
Oh missed, the presentations
Of news most latest.
Once more a wit master departs.
A chunk of my heart goes too.
Fools, such big figures are exposed as.
Not just humans degradation
From people of both Government and Power,
But ridiculousness and stupidity be revealed as well.
Satire and jokes, so true to the mark.
A swaying of views, not much in me, honest.
There be sad times and good times.
But humor in everything, found and shed light.
Proof he has given, a journalist, news anchor,
Truer than the true.
And some Fox people need go back to school.
One of common sense be best.
A ribbing of Arby's Ribs,
A delight to be sure.
But about news, I look forward to.
What stupidity gives rise.
There must surely be one who answers prayers.
A blessing tribute was given with a Trump's rising.
Good bye, Jon Stewart.
A legend you are.
A Satire King you are.
And to those, from show,
Revealed by show to hinder nation's progress,
And criticisms most deserved:
A thanks for confirming what France thinks of us.
