Poem: Prison

Updated on June 11, 2015

I am surrounded by walls of concrete

My spirit the devil wants to defeat

I hold my head high and pray to the Lord

I know with his help it wont be so hard

there is this strength that comes from within

no body's perfect and we all sin

I am here now with no one to blame

the things I've done wrong what a shame

lessons in life they must be learned

things that we get they must be earned

when these says end and my time is done

I will find other ways to have fun

I know God now watches over me

and even in here I know I'm free

believe in karma it is very true

if you do bad it will come back on you

I will say my prayers day and night

when I get out I'll live my life right

It's now I can say myself I love

and I give thanks to the man above

We all sometimes make mistakes

In life we all sometimes make mistakes. It's okay to make one or two mistakes in our lives, the important thing is to learn from them. Someone once told me "If you always do what you always did, you always get what you always got." I wrote this poem while in jail. Through this time I had time to think about where my life was heading and what I had to do to change things. Everything we do in life has some sort of impact on our lives.
