Poem: Second Dawn

Updated on March 11, 2009

Second Dawn

A calling heard
Born free from enchained chagrin
Higher… higher
Ascending from coarse stone gravel
Rising between rose petals only to rest
Gently … quietly
Where serenity’s hand sculpts the dew
The liquid pillow top where I lay my head still
Whilst I see?
Alas I see
The warm glow runs through as tomorrow’s limits fall with spring leaves
A new breath falls
Raining between sun split clouds upon a glimmering face
Shining before time’s next
Glancing over mountaintops into the rising moment
The dawn of second chance
