Poem: Stop And Think!

Updated on December 11, 2012
Busy life...
Busy life... | Source

By Salini

Life gets hectic as we move ahead in our life and with our busy lives, intention of providing the best for our family we often forget to spend time, love and smile with our near ones.

The basic concept of earning money is for the betterment of the family life but the irony is as we earn more and welcome the luxuriousness in life the quotient of the emotional strength of the family goes for a ride.

This poem is the outburst of my thought process along the line.

Stop And Think

Hustle bustle life,

Vrooming zooming by.

Stopping a little while, will cost

a penny or a dime.

Busy in our lives

We fail to love, hug and give time

The ones for which we work all day all night

Look at us with eyes full of want and right.

Stop! Stop!! Stop!!!

Wait! Wait!! Wait!!!

Listen to your own heart beat!

It’s whispering the secrets of life

In smothering tones and voicing plight.

Do give an ear to its drowning cry.

What use is money if you don’t have love?

What use is luxury when your half walks out?

Stop, think, act wisely!

Shower love to your one and only,

Cos, at the end, what matters is the family.

The one you sowed with the thought of eternity.

Sowing for future should be along with one's family...
Sowing for future should be along with one's family... | Source

Love is at its best, when its shared

with the ones who love you the most!

Money can buy luxury

but happiness is brought in by family!

Working hard in your life is mandatory

But sharing your life with love is sanctity...

Hey love, Thanks for adding your wise words on the context of my poem.

      Thanks for the blessings too.

Life gets busy but the point is we need to stop occasionally and love the simple things around us.

I am lucky that I have a man who does so and I am actually jobless enough to think and work only for my family (as of) now..LOL... so all lovey dovey here... hope it remains like this as life moves on...:)

Thanks again for your comment LadyFiddler.

      Have a great day.

Hi hi Life Iz Beautiful ;)

Great Hub yeah sometimes we get to busy even for ourselves and i think that's why alot of children are corrupt today. Mother's are not around to show them love and care as they should. so they do astray seeking love and attention etc , when children are picked up from a nursery at 6pm what time do you really spend with them, when they have to go to bed and you have to cook, wash etc.

I guess its the same with fathers sometimes we all need to make time for one another to love, laugh, cry etc.

God bless you today and forever

I have learned to slow down and enjoy life much better through the years. It is amazing at how much we lose when we don't value the little treasures in our life.

This poem is just awesome Salini. We ought to really stop and think whether our being so busy is preventing us from enjoying the pleasures of being together. A fine message.

Voted up, awesome and shared here.

So true and so well written. I sit here today reading this wonderful and important message and thank God above for giving me the many earlier times in my life when I did take the time to stop, hug someone and tell them I love them. As they are no longer among the living to do so.

Great write. I am voting up and sharing

The message is a good one, and it's one I have written about often.....everyone is in such a hurry, but they forget to live. :)

This is really a good message, especially for split families. In products of divorces even after the children are grown, sometimes the love and affection just isn't there. I saw my friend's son bawl like a baby as they lowered her into her grave. In the few years I had known her I had listened to her lament that he didn't care. Voted you up ++
