Poem:More Not so Love Poems
Some one told me the anger
would settle deep within
if not careful.
I have a mask I put on once and awhile
expressing the truth about
my fear, my irritation.
Tears well up, my chest begins to cave in
heart pounds quickly with the memory.
Taking a deep breath helps
the mind unable to think without oxygen
so another gasp to distract
the gross, ugly look
I might be wearing, I never know
until it fly’s out of my mouth.
Now, almost a decade
laughter fills the air
as the only fear would
have been to stay.
