Poem: The Butterfly

The Butterfly

The butterfly emerges from its long sleep.

Once a mere mundane cylindrical tube with no noted features, alone and incarcerated within its dark encasement, is now a newly formed organic testament to evolution and survival.

As it stations itself and readies for flight, it spreads its vibrant and majestic wings out across the radiant sky, slowly elevating, moving forward where destiny awaits its arrival.....

sweethearts2 Each facet of our being reveals a new aspect and new beginnings. We must rise to meet challenges, and so I saw it as majestic wings heralding me through the skies to my long awaited destiny. Thank you for the read and the warm embracing response.

Change can most times bring beauty and the ability to expand our horizon from once a fixed point. Love the image of moving forward to destiny on majestic wings. Another awesome hub.

Thank you Billy, Vincent and Dusty. The butterfly and its metamorphic journey is ripe for interpretation. It is also great symbolism for change (thanks Dusty for pointing that out), something we all resist at times.

Pretty and awesome when you study the thoughts of the creation of change that we as humans fight so hard to stay away from the reaper who may well bring upon us a brilliant change such as this,

The majesty of the Monarch Butterfly is simply breath taking to watch them in flight, I've witnessed hundreds of them leaving our Prairies and heading on their long journey south. You describe them so eloquently with your praise for their birth. Yes indeed it's a miracle. Loved your piece. I also wrote of the Butterfly in my "A Butterfly Dream" I love this beautiful species that hovers and flutters about in the air endlessly.
