What if I said I give up would anybody care?

The pain is so raw would I even dare?

Pain so deep it cuts to the bone

Another day another dollar; more time to be left alone

When we first began

I was not even sure you were the right man

But then friendship conquered all.

And into your arms I began to fall.

Quickly every one had something to say

You’re not doing it right you must do it our way.

Your way may be right for you

But it leaves me lonely and blue.

Who are you to say I’m wrong?

Sing it girl sing your lonesome song.

Left alone in the dark

So alone unable to make my mark

Who am I to take this away?

Only the one who is alone night and day!

Look into my eyes what do you see.

No, I finally understand you don’t really see me.

What you see, is a pretty package without a voice of her own

I am unwilling to be completely owned.

You may be doing what you feel is right

And I don’t have any ground to fight.

Do what is right for you

Just don’t be surprised when I am no longer the girl you thought you knew.

look deep into soul of the poet.. you can tell a lot about the poet .. you just have to read between each line.

poetry make a person read at deeper level,

      profound and thumbs up.

      one love annie

..yes but the words are hotter and I absolutely adore the title and especially that last line - a very evocative read because someone as special as you made it so!

Such a lovely write. Don't back down. Be strong in who you are. I love it. Your voice will carry over in the end of it all. Strong is your heart, in light or darkness, love and pain, peace and war. Thank you for expressing yourself so beautifully.

Terishere, it seems that you understand my plight in life. not that I can complain, really. there are people who have real problems, I truly appreciate your encouragement. Thank you!

Another great poem!! I can feel your pain about feeling controlled, and how they don't "know" you.
