Poem - The Real Summer Love (I Miss You)
The Real Summer Love (I Miss You)
She is more than just a girl,
I see her like she is the light,
And my paradise lies
at the corner of her eyesight.
Loving someone in summer,
is like living without yourself,
Like a body without a soul
and you don't know how to help.
They say these things
make you feel like you can fly,
But when I don't see her
I feel like I just might die.
Like I don't know how to live
and don't want to live with myself,
Forget flying, I feel helpless
and I can only crawl at my best.
I tell myself to do something
but all I can do is struggle,
But when I tell myself to run,
I feel all the feelings just double.
I am breathless, lifeless
whenever I think about her,
I can't even speak sometimes,
because even my breath misses her.
Maybe it's the cruel heat
and it's making me go insane,
All this loneliness is killing me,
and all I can feel is endless pain.
I feel sluggish always
because all my energy's been sapped,
Her hair is like a fishing net,
and caught in it I'm just trapped.
Girl, please understand,
I've forgotten how to live,
I'm empty, please believe me,
I have nothing left to give.
The next time I see you,
I'm going to kiss you,
And then I will tell you,
The truth is, I miss you.
