Poem: Walk with me

Will you walk with me

The night isn’t over

I want to know

That you’ll stay closer

The stars don’t shine

As the clouds hang lower

I feel all alone

As fireflies glower

The freezing wind

It chills my skin

My heart does ache

I feel colder within

As the darkness creeps

It may hide the sins

Of the treacherous path

As my journey begins

My shoulder waits

For a gentle hand

As I am moving through

This perilous land

Want to feel the warmth

Of you walking close

I want to hear you breathe

The rustle of clothes

When I feel you near

My courage glows

A bubbling stream

Of hope that flows

There’s a promise of dawn

In the distant sky

Tell me it’s true

Not an empty lie

Will you walk with me

The night isn’t over

I want to know
