Poem: Why Did You Leave Me All Alone

Updated on September 24, 2012
Source

This short poem contains song lyrics that I wrote quite a few years ago. It is based on a relationship that was ended suddenly and without any reason as to why, which can be devastating to an individual, especially when he/she is led to believe that everything is fine.

Most of my poems are based on song lyrics that I've written and although this is not the most enjoyable subject to talk about (e.g. heartbreaks and pain) - it is reality and life. As a writer, creative inspiration comes from so many different aspects even the hard times.

Verse 1

I was so deep in love,

And I was all about you,

I was extremely devastated,

When you said, "we're through,"

Time and time again I ask myself,

Why did you say goodbye?

Chorus

Why did you leave me here all alone,

Without a good reason,

Why did you leave me here all alone,

When I loved you through all seasons,

Why did you leave me,

When I was there for you,

Why did you leave me,

Crying over you.

Verse 2

I gave you my all and all,

Completely and you shattered my heart,

My whole world was torn apart,

I was stunned by the way you left me,

And I don't know why you're gone,

Baby, please tell me ...

Chorus

Why did you leave me here all alone,

Without a good reason,

Why did you leave me here all alone,

When I loved you through all seasons,

Why did you leave me,

When I was there for you,

Why did you leave me,

Crying over you.

      Hello,

Indeed very sad subject and poem. I love writing about the same. It's a subject all can relate to on some level, at one point in time. Hopefully, you can upload the music w/ the lyrics. Sadly beautiful. I look forward to hearing more.
