Poem: Young Love
We started off young,
With our hearts all aglow,
So very much in love,
Not knowing what tomorrow may bring,
There were some naysayers,
A few negative comments,
Encouragements to just take it slow,
Is it wrong?
Can it continue to get strong?
Will we fall out of it?
Will we have made a huge mistake?
Will the valleys be more than the peaks?
Will we proceed as the calm stream or roughness of the mountain creeks?
Who knows what tomorrow may bring,
All we have is here and now,
Looking forward to the future,
Not worrying about then or how,
Keeping the faith,
Making it work for us,
Defeating all the odds,
Because this young love is a huge plus,
No matter what you may think,
We know what is in our hearts,
Not living for you, him or her,
Giving this young love all that we’ve got.
