I'm an inspirational writer working in interior design, planning commercial offices where I found my niche, but with a passion for writing.

Prayer

Looking death right in the face, the fears and unbelievable pain of losing someone turns you inside out. Grief has a way of changing your perspective on life.

Grief is all-consuming. It steals your joy. It takes up residence in your heart, soul and mind and it doesn't want to leave.

When grief hits you so hard all you want to do is stay isolated, then you have to face the pain. Writing your thoughts and expressing yourself helps to heal the pain.

This is a poem about grief. A poem written in the shadows of despair, a poem of grieving. Written with courage to face the demons of pain, this poem speaks to the soul.

From death to life, this poem is to inspire those who deeply grieved. May this poem soothe your shaken soul.

In the shadows of despair

Poem on Grief

It was Death

that came knocking

late one night

ripping

my life

apart.

Sadness

shattered me

like a hammer

pounding

my emotions.

Anguish

overcame me

like a knife

piercing

my heart.

Sickness

battered me

like a dagger

thrashing

my mind.

Are you Grieving Today?

Grief

My Emptiness

sealed me

like a rainfall

saturating

my despair.

Isolation

compelled me

to hide

from the

world.

Grief

stabbed me

like a cut

bleeding

out my soul.

Reaching out

He saved me

from my

greatest

despair.

Faith arising

a loving

presence

consumed me

opening

my eyes.

Contentment

relaxed me

supplying

protection

in His

Open arms.

Unconditional love

moved me

beyond

my wildest

imagination.

Overwhelming

worship

healed

my soul.

Blooming adoration

Freed me

Winged high

En route

for Heaven.

All glory and honor to the King

Beautiful. I lost my mother and my sister within four weeks of each other this summer and your words ministered to my heart. Thanks for sharing your heart and comfort.

What a beautiful poem! Even though you talk about the hard trials we may face, you clearly showed how the LORD is there for us...

      Blessings!

Thank you for your comments. A very raw subject for me but it needed to be said.
