Poem - A Day In The Life

Updated on July 23, 2013

a day in the life of

…a bard

I got up at 4.29

Insomnia on my agenda

words wash tumbling over in my mind

I struggled for equilibrium

as my life ship tacked zigzaggedly

the clouds of change years speeding

speeding over my head

beneath my feet or on my companion walls

in a sky beyond my comprehension

I suffered for aloneness

yet plucked plump poems from the fire

…of me

my life burning in gods spiteful embrace

begrudging my talent for berating him

wait your turn god

I’m talking to me about me

me my mind meandering

this is the first in a series poet on poetry or poetry on poet,

was it Jerry Jeff Walker who said;-

..depending on where you stand, how you look and what you want to see...
