Poems Only In The Name Of God's Only Son

Updated on October 4, 2011

Poem Only In The Name Of God's Only Son

Where America Stands

We pray to God now to save our nation,

Where America stands it someday might fall.

We have forgotten Him in our daily living,

Yet when trouble comes His Name we call.

We have stolen from God His Rightful Place.

We are refused the right to speak His Name.

We have made much mockery of the Deity.

When trouble befalls then who is to blame?

When our forefathers came to this great country

There were many trials they had to overcome

Back then they worshiped God and thanked Him

For the chance to make this land their home.

In those days God was not a word unspoken. .

They loved Him and taught their children to pray..

They never dreamed back in those bygone years

Of such a time as where America stands today.

When and why have we failed to thank The Lord

For all of the good things That He has sent ?

Perhaps because we heard words of wicked men

And then , rejecting God ,we have failed to repent.

It is not The Lord's fault for He is still the same.

His Words have unchanged since the very start.

America today has changed from a Godly nation,

For we have torn Him completely out of our heart.

Now we ask God to smile upon this once great land

While there are storm clouds gathering all around.

You know if we truly wanted His Love and Mercy

Then we had better get back on praying ground.

We must now seek Him with a repentant heart

And we must cast all of our golden idols away.

Unless we do ,though the words may come

Empty words ,there really is no need to pray.

We have scorned, ridiculed and we've rejected

All of the things that made this nation great.

Because of our sin we are paying a bitter price.

We must truly repent before it really is too late.

We must restore our Lord to His rightful Place,

Give Him back all the Honor we have taken away.

We must welcome Him back into our hearts and homes

Only then will He hear us in Heaven when we pray!

Hello Rebecca, Thank you for your comment, it i s too bad that we have let God be taken out of everything , now you can see what we have now . Our ancestors would never recognize America as America the Beautiful anymore . Can you imagine how God feels when He looks down on us now?We had a lot of Godly men in the courts and high offices but now we have very few, time for a change . Love,Clara

This is lovely...heartfelt and inspirational. We need to back up and take a look at what made us a great nation. Thanks for making us think.

Hello Jackie, Somewhere we lost track of what is good and what is bad , we heard sinful men speak and we listened when we should have walked away.Over and over this happened until we began to believe that they knew what they were talking about. We seem to have forgotten everything that God had done for us.It is time to turn back to God and His written Word, only God could help us now. Man for all of their talk have no idea how to clean this horrible mess that they have made in America. Only God could but should He since the wise men who knew so much has barred Him from everything that is rightfully His ? Only time will tell. Love, Clara

Certainly true. We have not been thankful and we have lost the great America we once had. It is not the same place, such a shame.
