Poems and Poetry: Life On The Run

Updated on March 24, 2012

Life On The Run

Life on the run, no life at all

You’ll be gone without as

Much as a goodbye to loved ones

Leaving everything undone

You’ll be an outlaw, sent to jail

When lured out of hiding

A lifetime without relationship

Get the worm of worry out of

Your life by being law abiding

You’ve done a lot of stupid things

In the past but this is the time to

Turn a new leaf and stop training

Yourself to survive in hiding

There are certain corners

That once turned change

Your view of the world forever

So shun criminal activities and

The suffering of soul-rotting guilt

Because you’ll be deeply upset

Despite an outward aura of calm

Don’t spend your future running

Away from your past.

Very strong ... I like this poem! I love the "worm of worry" line ... so very true.
