In My Despair I Saw Hope

Updated on May 20, 2014

The Reconstruction of Lost Opportunities

My life is full of woes

With bitter taste of dust

I collapsed from the hill of

Greed into an empty grave.

This part of my life I left buried

I’ve reconstituted my dreams

Dreams that’ll endure

Beyond my earthly tenure.

With massive effort of will

I shattered my past

Like a broken mud pot

In my mind and swept all

The smithereens over the edge of

My consciousness.

True and grim determination

Took the place of prostrated hopes,

And in the cloud I found silver linings.
