Poems and Sketches

Updated on October 26, 2013

A little sketch for a day such as 09/14/13

I suppose I am alone.

I suppose I am lost.

I suppose I am defeated.

I suppose I am sad.

I suppose I am discouraged.

I suppose I am ungrateful.

I suppose I am afraid.

I suppose I am stuck.

I suppose I am numb.

I suppose I am cold.

I suppose I am angry.

I suppose I am disgusted.

I suppose I am mistaken.

I suppose I am dead.

Because life can't feel this way.

Life can't bring all woe and no joy.

Life can't take love and leave loss.

It is designed to give, to start, to uplift, to encourage, and to resurrect.

If you want, call it life.

But I'm holding out for more.

I suppose I will find it wherever love is.

What type of poems do you like?

See results

La Sirena

Embrace my muse I must, for her beauty lives

Under the sea, she sings in wonderful form,

“Yes, come to me my jolly sailor bold.”

I will enter the water for just a kiss,

Yet submerged I become, to colder waters

She pulls me, into the threatening dark.

But soon she stops, the water around now still,

Looks at me with some sort of unanchored love

And pushes me up to warmer waters.

Great poems~I found La Sirena to be especially captivating.
