Poetry- Even when I fell, you kept me from falling apart

You knew me back then...

There was a day and there was a time-

That I wasn’t sure I could handle letting love in my life.

You knew me back then-

You knew my heart,

And even when I fell,

You kept me from falling apart

Not sure why you did it-

I am not sure why you recalled my name,

I do know that you showed me,

That there is more than just one wrong and one right way.

You may not even realize that I am still me inside,

I may have changed my shell,

But I am the same girl frozen in time.

Even when I do not show it,

I hope you feel it in your soul,

That I am only me-

When I know that you close.

It may not make any sense,

I can’t even explain it to myself,

But I still need you,

Even after years of creating my own hell.

You don’t always understand me,

You sometimes think I am insane

You see the words I write,

And you say that the past keeps me in my chains.

Truth is I need these words

But don’t take my words to heart-

I use them to sort through the confusions in my life

They are not intended to tear you apart.

They are merely words of hurt-and fear for who I was.

The nervousness that I feel-

For not fitting in with others within this world.

But when I feel safe,

It is when I feel you.

Reaching out for me,

Letting me feel something that is truth.

Happiness is love-

The love I have for you,

And I hope that you never doubt I hold true to the words; I love you.

Thank you Joyce- I am glad that you enjoyed this. I am so happy that HP now has the ability to post videos without us having to link to you tube, i love the auto play feature too... I hope to start adding more and more to my collection of hubs that are composed more so around a video creation rather than the other way around. Thank you fro reading, watching and commenting :)

H.C. Amazing! I love making photo streams and I put other people's songs behind them but I had never thought of doing this. It's like an art installation on my laptop, just breathtaking.

Your poetry is very moving, especially when partnered with Daniel's music.

AWW this is so nice. It really makes a difference when reading poetry to music. I loved the scratchy effects of long past memories in the video. You get all of my votes

Very tender and expressive - you are good at drawing out deep emotions from only a few well-chosen and well-placed words. Thanks for sharing your heart with us! Voted up and beautiful.

I have the oddest sensation of de ja vu. This is a beautiful production. Not a hub, a production, filled with the mystery of love.

Thank you Marcy... My writing has drastically improved over the years- it took awhile for me to be myself within my writing and once that was accomplished- It took even longer to include emotion into it...now it seems to be habit...I cant seem to keep my personality out of my work...thanks for stopping by and reading and commenting... I appreciate the feedback :)

mckbirdbks... de-ja-vu? lol... this has been posted in similar form before- not the poem, but the video :) perhaps your de-ja-vu stems from there...regardless- thanks for the comment :)

Thank you Sharyn's Slant- I appreciate that. When we love we love with all of who we are... people always describe it as a feeling, but I think of it more as in the way that we live. Thank you for the comment and for reading and for watching :)
