Poetry - Patriotic Series #1

Updated on June 12, 2016

Freedom to Choose

The table is set, it's a banquet.

The finest one e'er seen before.

So why is it, then, that so many

Choose to eat from the crumbs on the floor?

Long May She Wave

Neglected, without wind, the stars & stripes remain;

Tho' in our pledge with hand on heart, our loyalty sustain.

Why do we take for granted the freedoms we enjoy?

Let's stir the waves of agency, it's sacredness employ.

'Neath stars and stripes forever may we firmly stand

Protective of our heritage, Grateful for this land.

In God We Trust?

Mr. Jefferson, what did you say?

That government can't make me pray.

Or did we misunderstand

And stretch your words like a rubber-band?

Now, as with Daniel, if I am caught praying...

(I can't believe what I am saying!)

It's sin! The big crime of the day!

Imagine! A "nation under God" who won't pray!

Song - To Be Free!

Free! To be Free!

All of God's children in ev'ry time and every land

search with their soul's to find freedom's hand.

They want to be free! To be free!

Free to explore and to open ev'ry door.

Free to learn, free to grow, free to know

what it's like to be free! Free!

Our Father gave us freedom.

He called it agency.

He left us to our conscience to choose what we'll be.

He gave it to His children in ev'ry time and ev'ry land.

We choose to hate, or choose to love,or to see His hand.

Then we're free! Truly free!

Free to explore and to open ev'ry door.

Free to learn, free to grow, free to know

what it's like to be free! Free! Flying free!

Song - Winds of Change

There's a wave of freedom all around us.

People fight to choose their destiny!

And the storm is in the desert and the mountains.

Winds of change; we all want to be free!

As a soul cries alone in the darkness...

Reaching out to an unknown hand of light,

And the warmth and the knowledge of a

Better day fills the soul, and the heart sings,

and the vision of liberty is fought for with all might.

There's a wave of freedom all around us.

People fight to choose their destiny!

And the storm is in the desert and the mountains.

Winds of change; we all want to be free!

Some say freedom is a gift from the Almighty!

That the truth can make us truly free!

Free from guild, from sin, and give us happiness!

Freedom to choose who we can be, and the

freedom to enjoy the highest form of liberty!

There's a wave of freedom all around us.

People fight to choose their destiny!

And the storm is in the desert and the mountains.

Winds of change; we all want to be free!

Winds of change; we all want to be free!
