Poetry - The Bayou
The Bayou
The raging river
rolls over the logs
The leaves of the trees
are revealed
through the fog
The water creeps
through the trees
in the bayou
I am haunted by
the thoughts of you
The bayou beckons
Its loneliness calls
The trees in the bayou
form narrow halls
I navigate the maze
in my modest boat
I leave the bayou
where it flows
to the unsettled river
trying my best
to stay afloat
