I am a mother, a metal head, a goth girl, and lover of all darkness. I'm also a writer, a cake decorator, and a general weirdo. FUN!

Pins~N~Needles

I am the anxiety that sets in
when you pull down the shade.

I am something in your mind,
but I am not man-made.

I am the concept you cannot grasp
I've been neglected for so long.

I am the the splinter under your nail.
The feeling I bring you is so strong.

I am the darkness that comforts you
when the day is through.

I am hiding in the shadows,
waiting to pounce on you!

I will eventually catch you off guard,
there's no reason to hide.

I will seduce you with my charm,
you'll experience the ultimate high!!

But when you finally come down
you'll never feel the same,

for now I've worked my spell on you
and played my little game.

Now to bring a comforting thought -
I'm not a chemical nor a drug.

You may call me what you wish,
but most people call me love.

Love or lust, you've pulled me in. But a man can be happy with any woman as long as he does not love her.

It's that double edged sword. That precious drug that cannot be bought. That highly saught after commodity that is soo hard to find, and even harder to hold on to.

    Great Job

I had to return to this. It is fantastic, so vibrant and full of emotion and imagery. Thanks for a great ride.

I love that you enjoy it so much. This is my favorite poem from my collection, simply because it came to me out of thin air. As always ralwus, thank you for the support. : )

This poem has great depth, and delivers a powerful and true message. There is no force that affects the human mind or heart more than love, and that is a both a curse and a blessing.

What an amazing use of the English language to explain an emotion so unexplainable.

right on - the greatest lyric since I am Woman by Helen Reddy - but you write like lightning in a bottle - so keep it there and don't let it out because it's precious!!!
