Poetry from 2003

Updated on November 1, 2015

I can’t see him, yet I know he’s there

Even though touching him is impossible, wanting him is not

The need for him has become an overpowering reality
When I think of him, my fear of what may be is invisible
I see his face, and all the pain vanishes
I hear him speak, and my heart soars

I imagine we are together when only wishing exists
Depression is forced within me, and I cannot escape it
I tire of being fed something I can’t swallow
Something I am unable to hold in my arms
The feeling of always thinking it will be
Desire has thrown me off a cliff
A fall, from which I am still recovering

Hope may continue to fade, my undying love for him lingers
And it continues to grow more and more
Until the day when it covers me, and I can no longer breathe
Maybe someday, it will be
Someday I’ll see him when the need is gone
And when what I used to feel is no longer there
Maybe, we will talk, laugh
As if we have known each other since the beginning of time
Or he may just, smile, wave, and then walk away

More Poetry From The Early Millennium

A stone overlooked, a diamond in the rough
Need to be shown the way, but taken for granted
Led to believe the feeling is right,
but the choice you made was wrong
Having no will to take on a shadow of your destiny
Fate is the ghost hiding under your bed
While your guilty conscious lurks in your closet

Temptation is there,
yet it’s too frightened to come out and play
Hope remains doubtful as each sun rises and sets
The days seem longer and colder in every way

Make yourself known, and then fall into muteness
Happy you tried then you feel over inside
Uncertainty is your new best friend
Rejection is hindering behind the door you open
Success is waiting behind the locked door,
but you didn’t think you were given the key
When you realize you have it, it’s too late

Long Kiss Hello

Felt within the depths of my soul by just a touch of your hand
Trying to express my feelings for you, but refraining myself from saying “I love you”
Not wanting to open my eyes for fear the moment will end
Or finding it’s only a dream
Yet, it’s a dream I have long awaited for
All the time, I am wondering how far this will go
Where this long wanton kiss will lead us
To break of it would mean it’s over
And maybe never having it again
Knowing it’s you I’m kissing and not another,
has made loving you worth all the while

This Is One Of My Favorites

Once More

Caught in the moment because I am alone with you
Whispers in the dark are no longer unknown
I was trapped in a world of shattered fate
Withered, but yet drawn to your every word
Life succeeds to amaze me once more
Everything that I thought I took for granted
Is before me again, and once more I breathe in its fragrance
Every verse is well-spoken and understood

Pushed off a cliff and into your arms again
Taking the chance to forget myself once more
So, now I see what the future will bring
And what I will have to forego
No more walking on this treacherous road
I only see you beside me in this world
Not knowing the life you are willing to choose
Is a risk that I must take
So then, we can once more smile and laugh again

All About My Writing.

I've always written from the heart, but in 2002, I found a heart I didn't even know was there. All this poetry seen here is copyrighted. I own all of it. Of course, all the poetry on my hubpages is copyrighted because it's all my original work.

New Poetry. This is in my book too, but you need to purchase it to see it.

All Over Again

I feel as if I'm getting to know you
All over again
Seeing you for the first time
Learning even more about you
Enjoying every new feeling even more
The second time
I have all the time in the world
To learn something new
All over again
Every moment of you teaching me
Your heart again
Is even more beautiful the second time
Falling deeper in love with you
All over again
Deserves a second look
Parts of it maybe very painful, my darling
When trying to get back to where
We were before
You're sweet when it comes to
Something I need
I still remember how you corrected a mistake
So sweetly
Said it's wrong for someone to hurt
Someone else
Your kindness is effortless
Your words are captivating
Your appearance is inviting
Who knows what our future
Could hold tomorrow
But, I would experience it
Again and again
All over again

Thanks Kathleen and CrisSp. I'm playing catch up with comments I only thought I replied to. My heart writes everything. Sometimes I find a title before I begin writing the poem itself. I'm always writing. Always creating.
