Poetry_OnTheSpot

Updated on August 2, 2017
I watched him, from across the room I could see his heart dancing in and out of conversation. He had a smile that could light up a universe...I simply HAD to go talk to him. Hi, hello, how are you? I looked at him and suddenly things didn't feel the same. His heart began to stumble as he reeked of alcohol breathing all over me like a dragon protecting its young. It burned, it broke my heart it made me realize things aren't as they seem. That once beautiful heart became this monstrous thing- this beast. I'm sorry I have to go I say rushing off as he smiles down at me- I'm captured. Locked in his spell, please have a drink he ushers me towards his table. I must go, he is made for me. This creature makes me feel a different form of free. Everyone is looking at me everyone is looking at us- I gaze into his eyes and see it again, the heart I walked over here for. Then I am awoken a body is lying in my bed it's him... my husband
