Point-Blank Range

Updated on July 10, 2012

Finally, the case was

taking on a shape,

his last murder was captured

on video tape,

a middle aged Brooklyn woman

had been killed

as she warmed up her car,

the murders were truly bizarre,

he was a tightly wound sociopath

who would shoot out his victim’s eyes

at point blank range,

he was odd, cold, strange,

he ran up and shot her repeatedly

in the head,

it was a shotgun blast,

and death was fast,

caught on tape was his sick ritual,

he’d pray briefly while looking

toward the skies,

then he’d shoot out their eyes,

his murder, sealed,

as the plot didn’t just thicken,

it positively congealed,

no longer was there a figure

with a blank space,

they now have a face,

during these times,

it was tough being a cop,

but that video told the gathering,

that the killings would not stop.

Raw! Unfortunately it is just as timely now as when you wrote it! Sociopath, schizophrenic, manic depressive....what is this world coming to, or is it just that they now feel more freedom to carry out their derangement? Scary, and raw!

Voted up, useful, awesome, and interesting.

      Keep 'em coming!

I can only imagine how hard it would be to be a cop and have to watch stuff like this. Gruesome but awesome, voted up!

Point blank range is a range to start anything perfectly. I have many point blank in my country, where the criminals did their crime especially now. Most of the criminals do their crime by economical reasons, but if they do by other reasons such as sociopath, It is really unstoppable. What tragic! Good work Frank!

Son of Sam-ish Frank. Nothing worse than a demented killer who prays to the sky and then shoots out the eyes .. And nobody writes on the life a NYC homicide Det. like you do my friend.

Frank, AWESOME!!! If I was going to be shot, only if, I would rather go point blank. Point blank. j/k No need to feel pain afterward cause that would suck:) Actually, both would. Always a job Frank!

Why doesn't it stop at once. Why some people don't like to be human?

Please god give them heart, feelings .

This was terrifying. Everyone's nightmare of a nut job on the loose. You tell it very well. Perhaps a book of True Crime Poems???

      Hi Frank,

This was intensely told and chilling in its depth. Hard to imagine there are people so ruthless and cold blooded. I always wonder what caused this kind of person to be like they are.

Heya, Frank! Are you creating an analogy of crime poems from a cop's point of view? :) Very disturbing nonetheless. Excellent as always. :) VUM!
