Poor heart: A poem

Updated on September 2, 2012

My heart has weathered many a blast

Whither it directs, thither follows body and spirit

Against my day, pain and misery cast

Thus shall I live, thus endure

Till a fatal storm shall finally relieve it

Torn to pieces

Tortured oft by guilt, oft by longing

A sweet moment too elapses

Right and wrong, twixt, thronging

Hours wrought with uncertainty and irresolution

With memories that wring the depths of my nature

I find nor bliss, nor cure or solution

When the tempests subside, to emerge, a weaker creature

Sharon, your poetic talents knows no bounds. That was so beautiful; my heart too has weathered many a storm too recently, but I too shall live on and endure. Absolutely fantastic. Voted up etc.

Beautiful poem. It made me wonder whether my heart would have been worn by Joy alone; had there not been any pain.
