Power of a Woman

Updated on December 1, 2016

A flame burns
Within the
Pit of my core
A fiercely deep fiery
Red light
Strength emanates
From my
Every pore
A rock of fire
Here to
Settle the score
With each step
My power
Has it's own
Life force
It grows
And grows
Knowing
The power of it's
Source
When you think
My power
Will die and
The fire dims
It always comes back
Flaming red
With full force
Burning again
Some may try and take
Advantage
Thinking there is
No strength
In time they will learn
There is always
A spark
Each year growing
Stronger
And brighter
With each flame
That burns
It never truly
Dies
It will always ignite
A phoenix
Reemerging
From
Embers of fire

Caroline, A deeply empowering poem! I can feel the energy; I can sense the endless cycle of sparks to flames to embers; I can see the phoenix.

      Beautifully done, as always!

Reading this eternal flame also reminds me of the quote

"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"

And I've been witness to both the fury and the scorn, but also the deep, compassion, caring, tender love from a woman.

Uwah I simply adore the scent of a woman, some say you can't live with em, but can't live without em. But I believe that applies to both sexes:0)) great poem, loved it. Bravo and Voted Up..

...because I am a feminist I already know the power of a woman (I think - lol) ..... it's in their mind.

      (Did I win double Jeoporady?)

....but I am already a winner because as a man I can recognize great writing from this young woman whom I consider an esteemed colleague, an inspiration to me and just a damn fine writer ..... lake erie time ontario canada 12:07am I feel like I wanna link this hub with Helen Reddy's I am woman - in fact I will - look for it alongside your posting on my FACEBOOK page with a direct link back here

I agree with Debbie: beautifully put into words. We women need to feel that empowerment, and this poem serves as a great reminder of how much strength we all have. Thanks for sharing.
