Pretty Michele

Pretty Michele don’t sell yourself

You’re worth much more than that

Don’t put your love out on the shelf

For hustlers, pimps and rats

You're out to impress

In your short sexy dress

A curvaceous nubile tease

Learning how to please

You're a young man’s dream

With Low self esteem

No mother’s loving care

No father’s happy tear

In this hostile place

Beauty’s no saving grace

Sweet bird of Youth

It's time to see the truth

Love is not a breeze

In the garden of sleaze

Bright fresh and sweet

Easy prey on the street

You sell your young soul

For the price of cold gold

This wretched life, akin to hell

If you could, you’d bid farewell

You'd reach for the sky, to catch the sun

But there’s nowhere safe to run

You’re seeking love, not to be alone

This may well be your day to atone

Take the stone from your heart

It’s time to get smart

Melt the ice from you veins

You're in charge, take the reins

Get sane, break the chains

You're God’s spark, use your brains

They'll enslave your mind

Because it’s easy to lead the blind

Manipulate your insecurities

Take away your humanity

So walk away... walk fast

leave it all in the past

Oh tainted flower

Seize the hour

Choose the right track

And don’t ever look back

Pretty Michele, don’t sell your soul

It’s worth much more than gold

You’re special, unique, listen to your heart

You’re worth much more than that

I love your poem.I like the message of hope, the imagery and rhyming.I think we need to learn not to be judgemental, and seek the good in all people. Most of the pretty michele's of this world have been abused and take wrong choices. We have to be grateful to God for His mercy and try to help them by acknowledging their pain.

Prashant, thank you for the visit and sharing your point of view.

I don't believe young people choose this kind of life, in fact, I think the reverse is true, for many it is a last resort.

It says more about the society that allows the young and vulnerable people to get this desperate, a high per cent of these youngsters are from abusive homes and/or are brought up in Care homes. the evil comes from the sub-humans who groom and prey on the vulnerable.

I really liked it,your poem touched me and made me think about such girls who sell themselves for some money, the money they earn can never buy them them the peace of mind,i also thought about the men who exploit their needs,i think that those girls are much responsible for this, because if we don't want to give away our self respect no body can take it,they voluntarily sell themselves for the sake of money, they must realize that they can be somebody sister,or mother,or a daughter or a good friend but never a whore. The men who exploit their needs will also go to hell,if we want to help such girls we can simply pay them the money and also help them realize the real self that is so pure in which god resides, and he will never like such actions. We must think we are the most important people in the entire world and no matter what happens,we will never sell our esteem at any prize.
