I would have loved to have known
you personally
My friend
The world will be moved to tears to
parades to promises
But I will think of a man so
blessed with humility
as to smile at defeat
to laugh at cruelty
to cry with the children

Not often but just once in
a while we meet
a man that all have known
from the beginning of time
and for all time
And one that we will
never forget

Rest in peace my friend
sleep with the angels
break bread with God
and when he asks you
what you would do
smile at him
joke with him
and say
Do what I would do.......

Good bye Nelson........

Beautiful poem and tribute to a great man - probably the greatest man of a generation. He was an amazing man and fought for what he believed in to the end and taught us all about peace and love and forgiveness.

Blossom , yes , I think he knew that ! And even though that he was labeled a terrorist , there are times when anyone could be labeled that ! he was a freedom fighter for sure , one thing I do know was that he held great respect for those who supported him while he was falsely accused.

A lovely tribute. I wonder if, while he was alive, he was told the impact he had made on so much of the world. We certainly do need more like him to stand up for justice and peace for those who cannot.
