Procrastinators Prayer

Updated on December 12, 2011

Procrastinators Prayer

Stagnant folks good at stinking

Are happy to be good at something

A cup leaves a ring on a table

Where a coaster should be set

Circles beneath perspiring glass

Wet paint on a park bench

Ruins my pants, ruins my plans

Old souls await renaissance

Always saying "time is fleeting"

Their feet creep towards death

The sun sets on the summer

Same as the other seasons

We spend days dreaming

Spend evenings awake in bed

Full of resolutions and regret

Forgotten yet unsatisfied by rest

Folded fingers make helmets

For hard heads in reclined chairs

We hang ten on the internet

Catch waves on television sets

Some potatoes with eyes

Watch other peoples lives

Opportunity stands outside

Knuckles raw from knocking

Answer the door in a moment

Normal gets lost in boredom

Answer the door in the morning

Is there order to this disorder?

Glasses half full of optimism

Do not distract my attention

Nor justify my neuroticism

Someday never comes

Oh Man! That was creepy and I LOVED it!! What does those initials at the end mean? But voted up across the board.

I can't find the words right now to describe how much I liked this. So it's just, 'WOW!' You possess the kind of talent I'm reaching for as a poet. This inspires me and also makes it clear that I've got a long road to tow.
