Promises (poem)

Updated on October 20, 2015

It was a day well spent beside the sea

Where dreams were made along a mood swept shore

And with each kiss came promises of more

Soft silken sand to warm a memory

It was a day tomorrows were no more

We bared our hearts for all the world to see

So grand a love was now reality

But for the world this moment to explore

There came a day that challenged all we knew

And all our hopes were mingling with a tide

Created by the oh so lonely heart

There was a day well spent in kissing you

Its memories come rushing to our side

And treasured promises again restart

Music only

Thanks for an interesting poem. I especially like the phrase: 'a mood swept shore.' It's so evocative.
