Prose - Dedicated To The Foo Fighters

Updated on April 8, 2011

Tonight I just saw the Foo Fighters new documentary ("Back and Forth") and it reignited my feeling that I truly love this band. I wrote the piece below two summers ago after watching their Wembley Stadium concert video to very little notice on here so I'm going to introduce it once again because it's my hubpages site and I get to do what I want..... I'll be buying their new CD (yes I'm old school; I don't mind paying them for their efforts) very soon....

Stochastic perfection
Staccato smoothness
Screaming comfort
Mental duress
Gutter rat beauty
Sensory control
Primal sophistication
Mutating soul
Indecipherable pitch
Blinding vision
Deafening clarity
Reckless precision
Simplistic genius
Street-wise intellect
Monosyllabic truth
Politically incorrect
Emotional apocalypse
Raging articulation
Distorted calm
Dominating freedom
Numbingly sensitive
Inappropriate dignity
Contemplative explosion
Tempestuous tranquility

Yeah... the fantasy is to be in this band... just wear my jeans and t-shirt with a picture of John Lennon on it and grow my hair out a bit and maybe not shave for three days... just get scruffy... abandon all numerical thought... be loud... be creative... say something... just be in that 7% element of humanity that calls their own shots...

@Micky - check it out if you get a chance. It's fun to see the inner workings and evolution of the band from the Nirvana days and Cobains suicide to their conquering the world... now they have kids and it was funny to see them record their new album in Grohl's garage while his daughter walked in telling him he promised they would go swimming together... he ain't no rock star to her; he's just Dad... great stuff....

Thanks man... I know there are a lot of bands out there that I'm not aware of but these guys have replaced U2 as the hottest band around. Dave Grohl is a great lyricist and they are able to mix pop with alt effortlessly....
