Quacks and Other Phonies: a Satirical Poem
I have seen a shrink at the end of her rope
and a heart medico as fat as he shouldn't be
also a guru who did not inspire any hope
along with a nutritionist that no one should ever see.
There were others, like those self-proclaimed preachers
who couldn't show much for all their believing
as well as those physical culture teachers
who later on turned obese beyond forgiving.
Which reminds of critics of something they couldn't do
and armchair philosophers who never read a book
along with newsmen who would say nothing new
or cosmeticians who could not mask their look.
I know you have seen many of this kind
so if I have left politicians out, that's an honest mistake
with all these colorful types now crowding my mind
I forget to put the proper icing on this cake.
For, of all existing phonies politicians are the champs
masters of deceit and regulars in perjury
and it doesn't matter what they call their camp
I trust them like I would trust a butcher with my surgery.
