Quietly Flows My Life

Updated on April 28, 2012

Yes, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Looking forward....
Looking forward.... | Source

Peace at last!

Quietly flows my life

No battles and no strife.

Each thought in harmony,

No problems do I see.

Each bright and sunny day

Casts former troubles away.

Sufficient to my needs,

Seems based upon my deeds.

No more those thoughts of dread,

Which used to stir my head.

So, matter of fact , instead,

It appears I’m already dead.

Victoria Lynn: Gosh you are fast to comment. I'm so glad you enjoyed this little ditty which came so quickly this morning. I told "afraid of death and funerals" that her hub was the inspiration for this satirical poem. I hope it helps not hurts.

ziyena: I assure you that the feeling is mutual. This was certainly not the length of John Milton's "Paradise Lost". Maybe "Paradise Gained"?

Angelme566: Plan for that feeling in the next life, and not in mortality. Come as close as you can though! Thanks for the Vote Up.

Great poem! Takes you to an abstract fantasy doesn't it!

Ok. You want 2nd 3rd and 4th opinions:

      You're ugly, short and smelly.

Now I'm going to have to bill you for the consult.

      Pretty active for being dead...

And I truly doubt that I could ever win any of your legion of followers.

I have to add that I read all but the last line of this to Manolie and had her guess the last line. She guessed it perfectly much to her delight and our mutual laughter!

Faith Reaper: Somebody, I'm sure, said "Nothing's free."

A mind at peace is about as close as we are going to come. We can wish, but it takes some meditation and constructing a plan which puts life in perspective, and relegates today's "information overload" to the miscellaneous box, while we live the important portions of life.

LOL Now why can't you just be happy for this peaceful time God has given you. It must be part of the scheme of things for you. You've been good and now you deserve a vacation. God bless.

Gypsy Rose Lee: I don't think we are expected to take vacations from life in this lifetime. I'll settle for at least one in my eternal life, if one is granted me. May God continue to bless you and yours.

We may as well be happy and enjoy life because our life's journey does have an ending.

I was thinking - "Oh, this is like me" - until I read the last line. You've got too much talent to go and die on me. Oh, no no no! Don't even think that way. You're far too precious.
