Dedicated with LOVEto a “Real” person in my life

People become “Real” throughthe wisdom of experience and love. As stated in my favorite children’s book, The Velveteen Rabbit by M. Williams, (1922) ” ‘Real’ isn’t how you are made, it is a thing that happens to you. It hurts sometimes, but when you are ‘Real’ you don’t mind being hurt. It happens over time. It doesn’t often happen to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or have to be carefully kept. Generally, when you are ‘Real’, things don’t matter at all, because once you are ‘Real’ you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand. Once you are ‘Real’, you can’t become unreal again. It lasts for always.”

When I think of “Real” people, I think of you. I think about all the wonderful things you have done and all you are about to do. I think of how strong you are. I think of the wisdom and love you have given me.

I have learned a great deal from you and know that I am a better person for having known you. Thanks for being in my life. Thanks for being “Real.”

Although you weren’t expected

Although you weren’t expected

So quickly you came and so quickly you left

I never got the chance to meet you

I loved you just the same

You lived only 8 weeks

I never knew you were there

You left on October 13,2010

I often pray and think of you

My own little angel…

Whom I hope I will meet again.
