REALITY-CHECK POEM BY NAMRA JAMEEL

RETURN TO MY WORLD

RETURN TO MY HOME

I WAS LONELY,AS I WAS BEFORE

NOT AN INCH OF RESPECT I OWE

FOR ELSE WHAT SHOULD I BOW

CARVED MY FATE IN YOUR HANDS

WHY?? AM I LIVING IN THIS LAND

RESCUE ME PLEASE,I WANTTO GO

HAD ANOTHER HIT ON MY EGO

IN THE LAND DISTANT APART

MAKE MY SOUL,MAKE MY HEART

FAR FAR AWAY FROM MY THOUGHT

MAKE ME A HOUSE,MAKE ME A BOAT

WHERE I JUST LIVE FOR MYSELF

WITH NEITHER "DEMONS" NOR "HEART-ACHES"

Who shall not want to come home? And come home to one's self? Lest we forget that we have our own self - our own home. Joy and pains all drive us home. By coming home, we find more finds than faults and failures. We find more meanings and means. We find more hearts than egos. We find more wisdom than gold.
