Poem REASONINGS Part (2)

Updated on November 13, 2011

I am that I am.

I know we have our reasons

For everything that we do.

We are a wise bunch that writes

A way of giving thanks

While exercising our wisdom too

Giving respect to others

As we would love for ourselves.

Today is for you tomorrow for me.

The day we shall call for help

Anyone’s a welcome sight to see

We are wise enough to realize

That the respect we give to others.

Is that same energy

Welcoming all as sisters and brothers.

Whether it’s sanitation worker

Sweeping the corner

Whether is the police man?

Ready to arrest us, unlawful behavior.

It’s our wisdom we need to match wits

Sometime kind’s words, that’s it.

I would not want to be the only one

That follows my own way

No man’s an island

Same meaning yesterday as it is today

Play by the rules, be a good sport

From the beginning, wisdom cannot lose

I heard that when you go to Rome

It’s wise to do like the Romans do

I am sure that over the years

Romans were also taught thing or two.

But listening well, walking good.

Isn’t that’s a good one for you.

I man pick my spots real care fully

Don’t eat it myself, I won’t feed anybody

Even then I must know you real well

Heaven’s chances to me, a lot wiser than Hell.

When Whatever I agree to is no longer allowed

Of the decision I made I be very proud

It’s the reason of the entire world I chose America

After thirty six years I am grateful to her.

There are two worlds’ famous Reggae singers

That I have followed all my life,

One is Peter Tosh and the other is

Hon. Robert Nestor Marley.

As a young boy growing up

Those two meant the world to me.

I made it my solemn duty to listen

And analyze the words

Of all their songs carefully.

I love them both, I found strength

In many of their songs as a young lad

In Peter’s songs I took “I am that I am”

It worked for me through some trying times

While growing up.

They both had their share of trying times as well

I love all Bob’s songs but I will

Make peace with “War”

From there on in life I took the bull

By its horns, I saw a new light

Give thanks and praises!

If I could do it all over again

I would sincerely take the hills

Like in the book of Psalms 121:1

I lift up my eyes unto the hills

From whence cometh my strength.

Because man to man is so unjust.

There is a Reason why all the good guys

Simply “Die” young.

Look at what “we” did to Jesus

Look what we do now!

So I am that I am!

My original choice song for this poem

is Bob Marley's "War"

It was however taken down.

Dont really understand what For .

So I am.
