In my simplicity, sweetness grows, o ego-thief,

I am satisfied to look at the starlit heavens;

To fly to the moon and bring it down.

O crimson-crescent lover, come play with me,

Here in my sand-castle of Mary’s little lamb.

Free me from possessions; my mundane gains.

Come! Take these transient things from me.

How I love the playful beauty of carousel lights;

Of children flying their murmuring kites!

Blend into my Heart, sweet Silence, O indigo sky!

I beg the freedom of the phoenix; to take wings,

Soaring into the unknown realms of celestial excellence,

Dancing with the smile of Thy grandeur;

Radiating the cascading fragrance of Your Delight.

      Thanks Chitrangada.

      My secret is that I also read them again, old and new. I get so much inspiration from them! This includes the comments naturally. Much Love.

      I swing like a libran pendulum, or a boat on choppy waters with the vicissitudes of life. Ha ha. The spirit remains undaunted but the body sometimes suffers. Glory be!

      That is a lovely poem. It's the first time I've read it. Yes, I have a daughter and two sons. I'm doing all right, thanks for asking. Hope you are as well.

      Sometimes I feel a longing to know more about you, how you are doing, your pains ... so you have a daughter? Cool!

      Here is Rumi's poem:

      " Both Light and shadow,

      Are the dance of Love.

      Love has no cause,

      It is the astrolabe of God's secrets.

      Lover and loving are inseparable and timeless.

      Although I may try to describe Love,

      When I experience it, I am speechless!

      Although I may try to write about Love,

      I am rendered helpless.

      My pen breaks, and the paper slips away,

      To that ineffable place, where

      Lover, loving and Love are one.

      Every moment is made glorious,

      By the Light of Love." _Jalal Uddin Mohammed Rumi (from memory)

      Hahaha! Good to know you're not worried about my sanity. Ah, semantics....good word....one I should teach my daughter, who actually enjoys reading the dictionary and wants a personalized one for Christmas this year. And I like that Rumi quote.

      Yes, yes, my Dear.

      "Both Light and shadow,

      Are the dance of Love." -Rumi.

      Again, darkness is only a lesser form of Light, but you know all that stuff. Just a matter of semantics here. Is that the word? (smile) I'm not worried about you, Shannon.

      Yes, that is basically what I am saying. I also believe that there is beauty even in the darkness, though it may be harder to see.

      No, sweet Shannon.

      Light is needed to appreciate the Light. Why should the kindergarten student know as much as the PhD professor? Perhaps you are saying that adversity is necessary, as in time it will help us to appreciate the Light, or to grow into the Light.

      Light is synonymous with Love and awakens, illumines, inspires, reveals, transforms ... burns the dross or darkness ...

      You are dear to me as usual and I thank you for catching up. Much Love, my sweet.

      Beautiful words from you, as always. Interesting poll, too. I noticed that light is not everything to most, but merely very special. Perhaps this is because some darkness is needed in order to fully appreciate the light.

      Yes, ever the child again. The Heart ... the Heart ... the child-like Heart. So necessary in this modern world! Deb, as always, you are so kind to me. Higher blessings.

      Ah! My Sweet Chitrangada. You came. What a beautiful sentiment you expressed! You've brought God into the picture. So meaningful to me! Of course, it is to the God or Love in you that I appeal; it is from the Source within that this lustre comes.

      So happy you like this, and yes, I do make an effort also with the pics and videos. God bless you too. The Absolute Brahman is our eternal Friend. Jai Lord! Jai Prabhu!
