Rain Washes it Away

Updated on January 16, 2013

The skies grew cloudy and grey

At the latter end of the day

Rolling clouds from the east

Wind howling like a beast

The rain came pouring down

Flooding and covering the ground

Animals two by two and large and small

Ran for cover one and all

Muddy water began to rise

As if an oceans tide

Logs and limbs and debris alike

Floated together in the night

Upon the junk the animals did crawl

Shivering together one and all

Together sat predator and prey

As the rain washed all away.
