Rainbows, Ballons and Broken Hearts

Updated on January 5, 2013

Someone recently told me that I live in an imaginary world of Rainbows, Balloons and Hearts Poetry. The imagination of poetry is a wonderful thing when you can touch someone else... even if you are alone.

In my dream I had two balloons, I let them go

like loving hearts... in different ways they went so slow

Up into the sky... floating softly in the air

pushed higher by a breeze, that blew up there

So high they floated, then a beautiful rainbow appeared

Rainbows, Balloons, Hearts... it was kinda weird

As I watched all the colors blend into one...

the Ballons they popped, from the heat of the sun

As they fell to the ground, two hearts in pain

just like life... love is sometimes very insane

Poetry is what you make it, happy or sad

Love is almost the same , only good or bad

When you make fun of poetry, remember this write

I wrote it with haste and I made fun of spite

The Rainbows and Balloons were just for a start

But, please don't make fun of a Poet... who has a broken heart

Deborah, I am in the process of putting it together, but with my schooling and all the homework and work .I find it hard to fisish it. I think I need an assistant ?... :) but i am also writing a couple of stories right now too, so writing romantic poetry is a sort of small hobby for me. i love to touch the women from afar with words of love and make them feel good . when I do finish the poetry book I will let all my friends on the hubs know ( got to promote it, you know). ha,ha. thanks for the interest and the comments . you are and have been one of my loyal followers. Write to me anytime , deborah

      God bless you

      Michael

How could anyone poke fun at a poet who writes from the heart. You are a beautiful romatic and that is something special in a man.

Only those who know not the heart of a poet would dare to poke fun at an already broken balloon!

Enjoyed your work and keep it coming!

Your balloons are like your poet's heart that so well describes the emotional ups and downs that we experience in life. I loved the images in your poem.

Well, that is a most beautiful world to live in no doubt! You are an amazing poet and never let anyone tell you otherwise. They have a right to their opinion, but that is all it is! I just love your poetry and I think it is amazing. There is nothing funny at all about a poet or anyone who has a broken heart. A poet's writing is his/her own and what each of us write is unique to our own life and interpretation, which makes poetry so very worth writing and so lovely.

God bless you. In His Love, Faith Reaper
