Rains of Summer

Updated on April 5, 2017

Rains pouring down, like a cascading river,

Its rewarding waters, saturating the ground.

A fond welcoming in of the coming season,

Just as the Summertime happily rolls around.

Rains of Summer, always make me slumber,

And in my knowing that everything's alright,

While sounds of thunder, in dreams I wander,

Then all throughout each hour of every night.

Those raindrops all are falling on my roof,

With winds and lightning, an added proof,

While the tree limbs all do rustle in the air,

And for my evening's rest, all does spare.

As a tortoise awaits safely in its own shell,

I do wile away the time, this heavenly spell.

Bringing nourishment, to the plants so bare,

A renewal of all hope with this feast to share.

Rains of Summer to replenish the earth,

This precious wealth to prove its worth.

Feeding hungry crops across the plains,

Those robust fruits, all the healthy grains.

Rains of Summer are a gift from our God,

A blessing so given, refurbishing the sod.

Serves as a heavenly reminder of its sign,

Fulfilling our promise, of the grand design.

"Rains of Summers"- adorably summarize the heavenly Father's respond to our prayers " Give us today our bread for the day." He sends the rain as needed.

Lovely poetic expressions on rain. The second verse is my favorite; I feel safe inside my house when it rains.

We desperately need rain here in Central Florida. We're in a deficit situation and wildfires abound at the moment.

I lived there back in 2003 and it was dry then as well. Maybe we will get a nice storm that won't do any damage and bring some rain. Blessings. whonu
