Babble

Updated on June 27, 2014

Abominable accident of brilliance,

apocalyptic excellence negligent of me, us, we.

God or coincidence?

Doesn't matter, what matters is the matter at hand.

Matter, energy equals mass times the speed of light.

We, us, me.

E=MC squared, the air is evil here.

Scared, pretending to embellish this disaster, choosing to fake it,

young ladies risking everything sacred to make it.

Everyday equinox,

loose women and crack spots = gun shots.

Get the money to get the woman, so you can get shot

by the same one you grew up with,

playing football in abandoned lots.

The same woman you get the money for

is dying herself from having unprotected sex

with different hustlers with the same way of thinking.

What a catch twenty two,

E=MC squared

us, me, we, you.

Daunte- I like how you included the reader into the last lines. Till then the reader just has a sense of things that are affecting only those protrayed in the lines before it. With that last line you set the record straight that while it may not be part of our immediate world, as a people we all are responsible, even if we don't see it because we all know it is happening. -P

This poem speaks of every day horrors some people face. Tragic realities but you've done a great job with the portrayal.

Another profound masterpiece, Daunte. Babble has a rhythm with a quality that is profound, poetic with a strong message and a heartbeat.
