 For an awesome online resource, try the Online Books Page. They list over 40,000 books to read, and also have interesting compilations, like the banned books section. Other features include A Celebration of Women's Books and books that won prizes.

What is really cool about the Online Books Page is that is was started by a digital library planner and researcher from the University of Pennsylvania, named Jack Mark Ockerbloom.

Project Gutenberg

After the copyright expires on books, they are free to use and Project Gutenberg compiles them. As said on their homepage, you can "download over 33,000 free ebooks to read on your PC.

It is completely free, and an incredible source of information. It was all done by volunteers, so donate if you can to help them out. I really feel privelledged to be able to have access to this immense collection.

Fanfiction is written by the fans of popular tv shows and movies. Fans write inside of the whatever series universe they chose, and create interesting offsets to the original series. has been around for years and years. There are many quality authors writing on there, but there are also writers who need more practice.
