Real Gold

Updated on July 24, 2017

All That Glitters Is Not 'Gold'

Do not be veiled, flown away,

by fake, ostensible glitter.

It is gaudy, golden imitation,

despicable, worthless litter.

It’s brilliant ,golden sparkling glint,

makes the keenest eyes hazy,

so remember on your journey that

even dull iron may look glazy.

      Well said debangee,

To see things as it is, and not as it seems...Is no easy task... full of stumbles...

Hi Debangee, I liked your poem. It almost made me giggle at the second sentence in the first stance. Thanks for sharing.

      Blessings to you.

An almost all encompassing metaphor concerning everything imaginable. There's truth which seems true but only because it is seen from 180 degrees, see the unseen half and what's seen almost becomes doss. There is always that which is the jewell and another imposter.

      Very well said, Debangee.
