Reality, the Enigma

By Tony DeLorger © 2012

The illumination of reality,

is less likely than a lottery win,

for sight is less anatomical,

and more corrupted by what has been.

When truth stands up and slaps us,

it is more than the sting that hurts,

it is the stark and painful reality,

that denial can skew, revert.

It is we who fail to compromise,

when egos are set upon,

when truth is less than wanted,

and we the foolish want.

Clothed in veils of refusal,

so easy to vision the lie,

to protect our view of how it should be,

rather how fashioned it is, we buy.

But at end the truth must surface,

amid all our blatant delusion,

in turning our backs on the flow of life,

we remain in dark confusion.

We can only fool a world in tune,

a world as corrupt and void,

as the lies we tell, about ourselves,

and in doing so destroy.

But within the dark recesses of each one of us, we know.
