Reasons to save This World
Worth more than the gold and wealth of all,
is the love given by both great and small,
The tender look in a baby's sweet eyes,
so dependent on this world, without any lies.
A dew splashed meadow in a warmth of the sun,
a masterpiece that has been done,
The white gulls flight over a deep blue sea,
such beauty abounds, and to all is free.
The gentle hands of a mother who cares,
the strength and devotion that a father shares,
The time honored sound of the clock in the hall,
a majestic oak tree that stands so tall.
The simplicity, yet an elegance, of all that is seen,
inspiring our senses to heights, so keen,
The goodness of life, of such a special quality,
so given, this grand gift, for all of us to see.
In shadows cast by golden trees in the Fall,
beside a lake, we hear a lonely bird's call,
A beckoning cry from this feathered one,
a signal to the night, that another day is done.
Deeper the sounds made by the sentinel there,
is time for change, sent to all who care,
In trust and to preserve, as stewards of the land,
on behalf of all, to stand hand in hand.
No finer treasure could we leave our own,
than a world that is clean, its creatures left alone,
A rebirth of respect and reverence for all things,
a sharing of the joys, that doing it brings.
As brown deer run on trails in the wild,
and with the laughter that is heard by a happy child,
A greeting that's twice given, with a song bird's delight,
will usher in to all, another restful night.
